You Capture: Quiet

Photobucket

Beth is hosting another You Capture assignment: Quiet.

Yay, spring is coming!

More quiet growth... (although now it's quite obvious that we should have raked our flower beds again!)

Tired!

You Capture: Shapes

Photobucket

This week's assignment was shapes.  I tried to find shapes in my everyday life.

Hmmm, a huge time sucker for me.  It's amazing how much I could get done around here if I didn't have these inviting squares beckoning to me several times a day.  Anyone else have that problem?!

These K-cups totally changed my life.  I no longer have to decide what I'm going to feel like drinking each morning for the next few months.  Instead, I can change flavors each morning if I feel like it.  Ahhhh...

Once you have "real popped" popcorn instead of microwavable popcorn again, you will never go back.  It is totally worth the extra few minutes to stand there and turn the handle.  I promise.

I love cookbooks.  I wish I could say that I used them often.  Generally, I find recipes using the squares pictured above.  But I do love myself a good cookbook.

A little bit of spring while the dirty, melting snow is outside.

You Capture!

This week's You Capture Challenge was Faces.

She did not specifcy whether or not furry faces could be used.  So, here's another shot of Sophie!  I was working on Pioneer Woman's Challenge with aperture and depth of field.  I really like how her nose is focused and the rest of her is head is blurry.

And, here's one of my 90 year old Grandpa.

And, one of my Mom.

Holiday Decor & You Capture

So, we are in the middle of our second snow day and they have already closed schools for tomorrow; my winter break has officially begun!

As I've had A LOT of time on my hands recently, I've had the opportunity to read lots of different blogs and see what great ideas there are.  I've very recently started getting into photography although I've always had an appreciation for it.  With all of my browsing, I came across this blog.  The author has a fun carnival called You Capture. This week's assignment (or rather last weeks is Holiday Decor).  Without further ado, a few pictures of my Holiday decorations...

Brand new monogrammed stockings hung by the chimney with care...

One of my favorite little snowmen

A new purchase this year- if you stop believing, Santa stops coming!

The reason for the season...

I love this awkward Santa!
