Congrats to Megan and Jesse!

My friend Megan and her husband Jesse just had their first baby this afternoon! And, it's a boy!  (They didn't find out)

She was due on April 15th and found out on March 18th that she was 2 cm dilated much to her surprise!  She lives up in Amherst, Massachusetts so I won't be able to visit her anytime soon but I was texting with her last night and she told me that she was feeling really good and would keep me posted...

Then, I got a text this morning that she was in labor...

Here's a picture of Jake Thomas!  He's 6 pounds, 2 ounces and perfect!   She sent it via text so the quality isn't the best but he still looks great!

Kate's shower!

It's been a crazy couple of weeks at school, more on that later this week.  But, I'm back after an unintentional break.

We had a great weekend!  I hosted Kate's baby shower on Saturday.  We had a nautical theme- "Ahoy, it's a boy!"  I had so much fun planning everything for it. 

I didn't take enough pictures but here are some that I do have...

The invitation!  I had it customized to match the nursery bedding.  Tierney from Tints and Prints made it for me and I couldn't be happier with it!  She also did my rehearsal dinner invitations last summer!

The diaper cake... I can't believe I didn't get a picture of this with my "real" camera but I didn't get a picture of the food table :(  This is from my iphone. 

It's hard to see but I made a pennant banner that says, "Ahoy, it's a boy!"

Check out this cute cupcake.  It says Bradshaw with an anchor.  Amazing.

The wine glasses had little paper tags on them that I made.  They had different phrases on them, like "Oh boy!" "Baby makes 3"  and "It's a boy!" etc.

The favors were a candy buffet which was a hit. The kisses had little stickers on the bottom that were nautical related :)

I wish I had taken more pictures but I was too busy once everything started.  I didn't even get one on my camera of the momma-to-be! :(

What I'm looking forward to in 2011

It's the last day of Kit and MJ's blog challenge; I can't believe it's over!

Today is what you're looking forward to in 2011....

1. Our Spring Break Trip.  We're really working on this and have decided to go to Europe!  We have yet to make our plane reservations or really any other reservations but we're working on it!  We're going to be going to Switzerland and Germany for sure and probably Austria.  One of Blake's friends is in Germany now and we're waiting for him to check some dates and get back to us.  Here's to hoping!

2. Meeting our friend's Kate and Kurt's baby!  She is due on May 14th and we can't wait to meet their little boy!

3. Hosting Kate's baby shower in March!  This is my first shower and I'm super excited!

4.  Finishing our basement!  We can't wait for this to be completely done!  Wohoo!

5. Hopefully starting to give some of our bathrooms a facelift!  Nothing major but that wallpaper really needs to come down!

Day 10: Favorite Girls Night Out Activities

I can't believe tomorrow is the last day of the 11 in 2011 blog challenge! 

Day 10 is favorite girls night out activities.  I have to say my favorite girls night out activity is going out for a glass of wine or two!  There are a couple of a small wine shops that serve wine and food and I love going.  It's especially fun when it's warm outside and you can eat outside!

The food is generally pretty light and not enough for Blake to call dinner but enough for me!
