What I'm Loving Wednesday

Wow, I can't believe it's March already!  We've had a few spring days around here and I have to say, I am ready for the warm weather!  I can't wait to start wearing sundresses and open-toed shoes!

I'm loving... that we made green eggs and ham today at school in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday!  My kids loved it but I have to say, there are some things that should just be a certain color!

I'm loving... that my friend Kate's shower is coming up in two weeks.  I can't wait to share the details after!

I'm loving... that we got our tax refund this week.  Wohoo!

I'm loving... the new iPad 2 that was released today.  It looks amazing.  I wanted one before and now I really want one!

I'm loving... Jodi Picoult's newest book, Sing You Home.  It was released yesterday; I downloaded it to my Kindle last night.  I've only read the first couple of chapters but I'm loving it so far.  She's one of my favorite authors.  Her books are usually pretty intense and really make you think about controversial issues.

What are you loving this first Wednesday of March?

All You Need is Love- Day 3

It's Day 3 of the All You Need is Love blog challenge..

Chaos Theory

Today is... if I could travel anywhere this snowy February, I would {LOVE} to go...

HAWAII!

I'm dying to go- if money were no object and I could take off a couple of weeks in the middle of February, I would love to go.  It's somewhere that is definitely on my must see list.

(Thank you google images for all pictures)

It looks like paradise to me!

Bathroom Wallpaper, no more!

For the past two years, I've been wanting to take down the wallpaper in our half bathroom but haven't done it... I think I've been a little intimidated because I've never taken down wallpaper.

But, yesterday, after school, I got a crazy energy streak and decided to try to tackle it.  Lord only knows what I was thinking since it has pretty much been the longest week ever.  Since Blake was working late and I figured I would have the weekend to continue working on whatever I didn't get to...

I was wrong!  It came down really easily!  I'm not completely done because Blake didn't get home until after I was in bed and I need him to take down the towel rack, mirror, etc.

My plan had been to freshen up with a new coat of paint.  Of course, I now want a new vanity, light fixture, toilet, floor, etc.  That's the problem with fixing things up, once you start with one thing, you want to keep going.  However, since we're in the middle of finishing our basement, the fixture update may have to wait.

Here are the pictures of my progress last night.  I must say, I'm quite proud of myself.

This is a semi-before shot.  I forgot to take a picture before and remembered after I had done the wall on the right, oops!

Just to give you an idea of how tiny our bathroom is- it's small, very small.

After!

See, don't those fixtures just have to go?!

But, if I could update them, I would get these:

Nothing too fancy but an update.  Too bad money doesn't grow on trees, ha!

I'm looking forward to painting the walls. I actually really like painting. I am not looking forward to spackling and sanding these walls.   I do not enjoy the preparation that needs to go into it.  That's for the birds!

Loving This

It's official.  I. am. in. love. with. this. camera. bag

It has gone on my birthday list.  I love that it looks like a purse and I can fit my lenses, my phone, keys and wallets in it.  I would get the black bag. And, it's pink inside.  Double bonus.  The downside: it's out of stock until April 8th.  That means I wouldn't get it on my actual birthday but it would be in here in time for our trip!

What I'm looking forward to in 2011

It's the last day of Kit and MJ's blog challenge; I can't believe it's over!

Today is what you're looking forward to in 2011....

1. Our Spring Break Trip.  We're really working on this and have decided to go to Europe!  We have yet to make our plane reservations or really any other reservations but we're working on it!  We're going to be going to Switzerland and Germany for sure and probably Austria.  One of Blake's friends is in Germany now and we're waiting for him to check some dates and get back to us.  Here's to hoping!

2. Meeting our friend's Kate and Kurt's baby!  She is due on May 14th and we can't wait to meet their little boy!

3. Hosting Kate's baby shower in March!  This is my first shower and I'm super excited!

4.  Finishing our basement!  We can't wait for this to be completely done!  Wohoo!

5. Hopefully starting to give some of our bathrooms a facelift!  Nothing major but that wallpaper really needs to come down!

What are you looking forward to in 2011?

Places I want to visit

Today's 11 in 2011 is places I hope to visit this year. This is perfect timing because the hubby and I are in the middle of trying to plan a trip for my spring break.  We were thinking about going to California; we were going to fly into Northern California and then drive down the coast.  Or, our other option was to go to Europe.  My brother-in-law is currently in a Master's program through FIFA soccer.  He just spent 4 months in England, he left today for Italy and he will be in Switzerland April-July.  Blake also has a good childhood friend who is living in Germany.  So, if we went to Europe, we will be able to see both of them and hopefully have a travel guide for part of the trip!

We're still in the very early planning stages- trying to figure out where we want to go, looking up flights, researching the area but right now we're thinking we would be gone for about 10 days and we would hopefully get to Germany and Switzerland and do a day or two in Austria.

It looks so beautiful!  I really hope we go!  Has anyone gone to that region before?  If so, do you have any tips for us?
