Thursday Five

1.  One month from TODAY will be my wedding day! And, Blake will be my HUSBAND!  Yay!


2. Last Friday students and their families had a wedding shower for Blake and I!  They were so excited and so cute!  One of the mothers baked a 3 tiered wedding cake; Blake and I had to practice cutting the cake and feeding it to each other.  My students thought they were marrying Blake with me on Friday. They had a hard time distinguishing between a shower and a wedding.  :)  


3.  We got our wedding bands Tuesday, wohoo!


4.  Kate is throwing me my second wedding shower Saturday for all my wonderful work friends. I'm so excited!  She's going to such a great job!


5. At this time next week, school will be FINISHED! 

It's Thursday! So that means we have to look back on our week to find 5 things that have made us...

1.  9 and a half more days of school left.  In fact, not counting today, I only have one Thursday with my students!  WOHOOOOO!

2.  It was a great 3 day weekend; I love that it's already Thursday!

3.  I ordered a custom cake topper for our wedding cake!  It should be Blake and I in our wedding gear with Blake wearing a Virginia Tech football jersey instead of a white tux shirt.  I am going to have a Penn State football next to me.

4.  I'm almost finished with our photo guestbook for our wedding!  Instead of a traditional guest book, I am making a book from blurb with our engagement pictures for our guests to sign.  It will have some prompts to get people started, some quotes and some pages that will be blank for them to leave us a note.  I'm excited about it!

5.  The parents of my students are throwing me a wedding shower tomorrow.  Even though this technically hasn't happened yet, I'm already grateful for it.  And, my students are really excited about it.  I know there's a big surprise but I don't know what it is yet- they are actually doing a great job of keeping the surprise a surprise!  But, it has been the talk of the class this week.  They are also excited because Blake is coming to it as well and they get to meet him.  I know though once he gets there, they will all of the sudden be super shy and quiet.  HA. :)

My five from this week are:

1.  3 day weeeekend!


2.  Working out is really making me feel good!  Now, if I could only stay on track and eat well during the weekends too; that will be my goal for this weekend!


3.  We had a minor leak from our shower and a friend was able to fix it for us for free.  WOHOOO.


4.  DVR- this isn't new for us but I absolutely LOVE dvr and was thinking about it a few days ago.  Commercials irritate me and I love being able to fast-forward through them and pause mid-show!


5. I had a nice dinner on Monday with my parents and my uncle (and godfather) who is here from California.  The next time I will see him will be for my wedding!!!

1.  I started reading Emily Giffin's new book and I'm really enjoying it!

2.  It's my grandfather's 91st birthday today!!

3.  I'm getting back in the routine of going to the gym, wohoo!

4. I got a new student from Ethoipia who speaks no English but he is so sweet!  I'm hoping to see progress even though we only have 19 days of school left!

5.  Did I mention we only have 19 days of school until SUMMER?!?!

1.  My family wedding shower was Saturday; it was so much fun!  I had a blast and I am so grateful to all of my generous friends and family members!

2.  My bachelorette party was Saturday night.  It was great- we all got together at Kate's house, we went out to dinner and then went out to a bar!

3.  I got a manicure and pedicure on Friday- such a great indulgence!

4.  My friends surprised me and bought a new things to wear for our honeymoon!  It was so fun opening the gifts and laughing with everyone!  I even got personalized underwear!  (GREAT idea for a gift for a new bride!)

5.  A great Mother's Day dinner with my parents, Blake and my sister!

1.  We took our engagement pictures Sunday night in Georgetown.  It was 90 degrees and humid so I was sweating but I can't wait to see them!

2.  My sister's wedding pictures came back from the photographer and they are beautiful!  I'm so excited!

3.  Started getting RSVPs back!  WOHOOO.  I love getting the mail now!!

4.  Blake chose and ordered his tuxes tonight.  WOHOOO.  

5.  My family shower is on Saturday!!  (This will probably make the list again next week, ha!)

6.  My bachelorette party is Saturday night!!  (Again, this will probably make the list again next week!)  

7.  Kindergarten orientation was today and tomorrow.  It's been so fun meeting the new kiddos, they are so small!

Wow, this was a great week!  And, most of my happy moments revolved around our wedding, Monday it will be exactly 2 months to go!

Thursday Five

This week has been a great week!  


1.  Going out to dinner on Blake's company Friday night (he did well on a project, so they told him to take me and go out to a nice dinner, score!)  We went out to one of our favorite places which we had not been to in awhile.  Yum!

2.  Finally watching The Blind Side.  I'm not sure what's happened to us, we used to always go to movies in the theater but more recently we've been ordering them at home.  It was such a great movie, I'm so glad we finally watched it!  Sidenote, I love that Sandra Bullock kept her adoption secret from the press and everyone else for the last few months.  Good for her!

3.  I ordered this hanger for my wedding dress... it will say Jenni <3 Blake.  I'm so excited for those pictures come July 10th!  And, it's something I can keep forever!

 

 

4.  Blake is starting physical therapy today for his knee!  I'm so excited for him; I'm hoping that it will really help him.  I know he will be in pain when he goes but I know it will be worth it! 

5.  We mailed our wedding invitations Tuesday!  WOHOOOO!

Thursday Five!

1.  My wedding shower invitation came Wednesday for the shower my friend Kate is having for me!  It looks wonderful, she did a great job!  I can't believe it's happening so soon!

2.  I bought a new under eye concealer and corrector and I'm loving it!

3.  I decided to invite my students to our wedding!  (Just the ceremony, not the reception!)

4.  Having my first dress fitting! 

5.  Trying out a new recipe for shrimp and loving it!

Thursday Five!

My five...

1.  Seeing how happy Katie (my sister) and her husband (Anthony) were at their wedding reception.  They were both very relaxed and having so much fun!
*Sidenote, it's weird to write husband when talking about my sister!

2.  Friday is almost here and I will have the house back to myself!  My future mother-in-law has been here this past week because Blake had knee surgery on Tuesday and she's been helping take care of him.  But, I will be grateful to have my house back to just us!

3.  Sophie (our furbaby) turned 1 on Tuesday!  I can't believe she's 1 year old already!  I wish we had this jumping thing under control when new people come visit but we're working on it...

4.  Being off from work on Monday to spend extra time with my family who had been in town for the wedding.  It was so nice to relax and ease back into the work week after such a huge event!

5.  Hopefully, Blake's knee is on the way to healing and he won't be the constant pain he's been in for the past couple of months! 

It's been a FABULOUS week!

Thursday Five

Thursday Five is a new blog carnival designed for us to slow down and appreciate and be thankful for things that have happened in the last week.  Keely at Mannland5 started this carnival!

The 5 things this week that have made me grateful, appreciative, happy, joyful, and/or elated:

1.  SPRING BREAK.  I am on Spring Break and LOVING it and the gorgeous weather!  I didn't go away this year (we're saving for our wedding in July and honeymoon) but I am getting so much done around the house and for the wedding!

Excuse the mess but it's organized chaos.  Really.

2.  Gilled out for the first time this season.  Yumm.

3.  I will be going to see the Cherry Blossoms tomorrow in this wonderful weather!

4.  I got to take my good friend Kate out today for her birthday lunch!  It was great to catch-up (she's been in Cancun for her birthday) and have a delicious lunch!

(We didn't take a picture today, boo.  But here is one from our trip to Florida last Spring Break!)

5.   We got our marriage license on Tuesday!
