Tot Swap

Last Thursday, Blake and I went to a huge consignment sale called Tot Swap.  It's in an old, empty Giant building; the amount of space the sale takes up is incredible.  They had everything from used strollers, pack-n-plays, swings, high chairs to games, clothes and outdoor play equipment.

We got some really good deals- still spent a lot of money but nothing compared to what would have been if we had bought them new!

Here are some of the things we got...

Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Table

Baby Bjorn Active Carrier

Baby Einstein DVDs

Peek a Blocks

Tonka Cars

Alphabet Pal

If you live in the DC area, I would highly recommend going to one of their sales!  We're certainly planning on going again in the Fall!

22 Weeks!

Size of the baby...  10.5-11.8 inches and 12.7-20.8 ounces according to the bump.com!  That weight range seems awfully big to me!  She is a the size of a papaya!

Total weight gain/weight loss...  Haven't gotten on the scale since my last appointment two weeks ago, my guess would be about 10 pounds though.

Maternity Clothes....  Definitely yes on maternity bottoms unless I'm wearing sweats around the house and most of my tops are yes too.  My normal tops aren't long enough anymore.

Gender... A sweet baby girl!

Stretch Marks... None yet, keeping my fingers crossed!  I read now is the time they start showing, yuck!

Movement...  Yep!  I can feel her moving when I have my hand on my belly but as soon as Blake puts his on to feel her move, she stops!   I'm excited to have him to able to feel her move soon!

Sleep... Okay, I'm sleeping for about four hours at a time and then I have to get up to go to the bathroom.  I hear it only gets worse, I guess it's nature's way of attempting to prepare you.

Symptoms... Just a smaller bladder!

Cravings/Aversions...  Still loving fruit!  And, I really want a turkey sandwich!  I know the chances of getting listeria are very small but why risk it?!?

What I miss...  Turkey sandwiches. I'm not even a big sandwich eater but I've really wanted one this past week!

Best Moment of the Week... Having my little kiddos come up and whisper hi to "Baby Templeman."  They are so excited now that I'm showing.  They come up to rub my belly and give me/the baby a hug.  Too cute!

21 weeks

How far along? 21 weeks and 1 day!

Size of the "the baby"? According to thebump.com...

(sorry for the quality, iphone again!)
Weight Gain?  At my last appointment on Friday, I was officially up 7 and a half pounds.

Stretch Marks? None yet and keeping my fingers crossed!

Gender?  Girl!!!!!

Movement? Yep!  I feel her moving a lot in the morning and then at night.  She's pretty quiet during the day, I guess all the walking around my classroom is rocking her to sleep.
Sleep? Not bad at all this week!

Food Cravings? Still loving fresh fruit!  I'm also really enjoying Honey Nut Cheerios. (random, I know!)

What I Miss? I missed having a beer while the Superbowl. I'm not a huge beer drinker but I guess those beer ads got to me!

Maternity Clothes? With the exception of my lounging around at home clothes, almost everything is maternity.

Symptoms? None

Best Moment of the Week? Seeing our little girl and hearing that she looks healthy and perfect so far!

It's a.........

GIRL!!!!

Most importantly, we had our 20 week ultrasound Friday and everything looked great.  My doctor couldn't be happier with how everything is going.  She told Blake that I was a model patient- great blood pressure and weight gain and I have nothing in the middle my chart which is where they put all the high risk information in.  That was nice to hear!

We were also very excited to hear that everything looked perfect and that she cooperated and they got all the measurements they need.

We can't wait to meet our little girl in June!

20 Weeks!

How far along?  20 weeks and 2 days!  We are officially halfway!  That seems so crazy to me!  I don't have a picture from this week.  Blake was still sleeping when I left for work and since I get home before him, I'm in my comfortable clothes when he gets home.  I don't think I've changed much since last week though!

Size of "the baby"?  According to the bump.com...

Weight Gain?   I don't weigh myself in between appointments but it's been almost four weeks so I got on the scale a few days ago and I was up 7 pounds.  Last time though my doctor's scale was different than mine so we'll see.

Stretch Marks?  None yet!  Keeping my fingers crossed!

Gender?  We find out tomorrow!  Most people think it's a girl, including Blake.  At the very beginning, I thought a boy but I've had two dreams it was a girl.  So, who knows?

Movement? Yep!  Mostly feel it in the evening when I'm lying down.  No real kicks yet though, just movement.
Sleep? Not bad!
Food Cravings? None.  Still loving fresh fruit and salads.
What I Miss? Not much!
Best Moment of the Week? Getting my diaper bag in the mail on Monday!

Symptoms? My lower back is aching especially after work.  I've been walking a mile or so every day and doing pilates so I'm really hoping it goes away soon!  That's what all the books so to do!

Diaper bag!

I have to say that I never honestly thought I would be one to get excited about a diaper bag.  But, I'm very excited about mine!  I suppose it has something to do with the fact that I love purses and know this will sort of be my purse for the forseeable future.

So, I decided to use some of my Christmas money to order a custom diaper bag.  And, it was delivered today!  I couldn't be happier.

My sister helped me pick three fabrics to use and I found Watermelon Wishes through Etsy.  We ordered the fabric online, had it delivered to Andrea and got the bag about a month later.

I especially love that the inside of the handles are a third fabric.  What can I say?  I'm a details person.  I also ordered a messenger strap so it can be worn across my body.

I know that I haven't used it yet and I don't have the things to put in it but I'm very happy with it so far! :)

Who would have thought?  It's the little things in life!

19 Weeks

How far along? 19 weeks and 1 day!

Size of the "THE BABY"? According to thebump.com...

Weight Gain?  At my last doctor's appointment almost three weeks, I was up about 4 pounds.  I don't weigh myself in between appointments so I'm not sure what it is currently!  It is going to be more than 4 certainly!

Stretch Marks? None yet and keeping my fingers crossed!

Gender?  We don't know yet!  Blake is convinced it's a girl as are most of my family and friends.  At the very beginning, I thought a boy but I've had two dreams it was a girl.  And, pretty much everyone else thinks it's a girl so I'm leaning towards a girl now.  We find out a week from Friday!

Movement? Yes!  It's not consistent though and I can't wait to be able to feel real kicks.

Sleep? Not bad!

Food Cravings? No cravings per se but really enjoying fresh fruit and salads!

What I Miss? Not much!

Best Moment of the Week? Ordering the crib and the dresser.  We're still undecided on the glider, anyone have any good brands out there?  We're thinking about a fully upholstered Detailer glider but they are super expensive!

Symptoms? My face getting much rounder than it used to be, it's always been round but it's even more so.  I'm sure this doesn't really fit into a pregnancy symptom but it's somethign I've noticed already, yikes!
Maternity Clothes? With the exception of my lounging around at home clothes, almost everything is maternity.  I think I could probably get away with some things that aren't but maternity clothes are so much more comfortable!

18 Weeks

I am officially 18 weeks and 1 day today!

Excuse the poor quality of the pictures.  We only had time to use my iphone to snap two quick pictures before heading off to work.

Size of Baby: According to Baby Center, about the size of a sweet potato.  He/She is about about 5.6 inches long and about 6.7 ounces now.
(the bump.com)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: At my last doctor's appointment about a week and a half ago, I was up about 4 pounds.  I don't weigh myself in between appointments so I'm not sure what it is currently!

Maternity Clothes: Definitely maternity pants now and a couple of shirts are maternity.  I can still get away with wearing my regular shirts so it's a combination.

Gender: We don't know yet!  Blake is convinced it's a girl as are most of my family and friends.  At the very beginning, I thought a boy and now I'm not sure anymore.  We find out on February 3rd!

Stretch Marks: None yet!

Movement: I've felt a few flutters here and there when I'm sitting or lying down, nothing consistent yet; I can't wait to be able to feel it all the time!

Sleep: Not bad, I've always been a side sleeper so that helps!

What I miss: Being able to take an Advil Cold and Sinus when I'm sick!  I had a bad cold this week and saline nasal spray just didn't cut it!

What I am looking forward to: Hopefully ordering our nursery furniture this weekend!

Cravings/Aversions: I've been really wanting fruit this week!  I wouldn't go so far as to call it a craving but I've definitely wanted it!

Symptoms: None!

Best Moment This Week: Finally feeling like my belly has popped a bit and people can tell I'm pregnant instead of just fat!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving that I'm back to blogging from taking a very long break since the summer!

I'm loving that I'm 18 weeks pregnant today!

I'm loving that we finally decided on our nursery furniture; we are trying to figure out if we should order white furniture or dark now...

I'm loving that Blake is loving his new job; he's working lots of long hours but says having more fun than he's ever had at work!

I'm loving my Prenatal Pilates workout!  There are five, 10 minute work outs so I try to do at least two of them a day.

10 Minute workout!

I'm loving my riding boots and maternity leggings.  They were both Christmas presents!

What are you loving today?

Back from a very LONG break!

So after taking a 6 month unintentional break from blogging, I realized how much I missed it and need to make time for it!  I always have a hard time getting back into the routine of something once I stop it and that's what happened (plus- physical therapy for my knee 2-3 times a week, the start of school, the complete fatigue from the announcement below, etc...)

(google images)

My husband and I are excited to announce that we are expecting our first baby in June!   I will be 18 weeks tomorrow!
