New Car

Blake's car has been on the brink of dying for a good year and a half!  We have been putting off getting a new one and trying to drive it until it died.  He had a 1997 Toyota 4Runner and it 204,000 miles on it!  The check engine light came on again last week and we knew we had to really buy a new one instead of putting in another $500+ into it.  Why is it that whenever the check engine light comes on it costs you at least $500?!?

Blake has been researching cars on and off for about a year.  Last weekend we went looking and test driving.  Before we got the to Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler dealership he told me that he really liked the Jeep Cherokee and the Dodge Durango.  I freaked out at the idea of a Dodge Durango but had not realized they redid them in 2011. 

We got to the dealership and I fell in love in the Durango much to my surprise!  We both test drove it on Sunday; Blake test drove the Jeep as well.  But we weren't ready to make a decision quite yet. 

Fast forward to Saturday and we went to look at a white Durango that had a great price listed on the internet.  Originally Blake didn't want a white car but the price was $2,500 less than any other quote he got for a gray or black one.  So, we bought one! 

It's Blake's first NEW car ever and we're both really excited!

We had the debate about whether or not we really needed the space now or if we should wait a couple of more years.  We decided to get it now because we're hoping to get more use out of my CR-V than two years.   It has a third row with some space in the trunk when it's up which compared to a lot of the three row SUVs we were surprised about.  And, when the third row is down there is a TON of space!
